The Way To Intelligent Data Management In The Cloud

Companies are investing in digital initiatives with cloud computing, big data, AI, and IoT. There is an urgent need to improve data management practices as most organizations cannot meet user demand for uninterrupted data access.

The adoption of cloud data management is on the rise, and intelligent data management is what companies will need in the future.

As the name suggests, cloud data management enables data to be managed in different cloud environments, often in a hybrid cloud and multi-cloud approach, including on-premises storage.

Companies are investing in digital initiatives with cloud computing, big data, AI, and IoT. The data management practices need to be improved urgently because most organizations can not meet the user demand for uninterrupted data access.

Cloud Data Management Challenges

A survey found that 71 percent of cloud data management companies admit that they cannot meet user demands for uninterrupted access to data and services. This would cost IT companies 17 million each year, highlighting the impact of downtime on the loss of revenue, productivity, and customer confidence.

The entire area of cloud data management (the collection, validation, storage, protection, and processing of data to ensure that it is reliably available to users when they need it) and the data models and paradigms reside in the Change.

The growing importance of edge computing and new use cases that require more and more computing capacity, storage, analysis, protection, and management are changing the dynamics of where data is stored.

Most of the challenges in data management are well known, from the culture and skills to the sheer fact that things are moving very quickly, and we have already passed the point where all the data generated could be stored.

Even if we wanted to, there are rules and regulations to be followed regarding certain types of data and the purposes for which they are created or collected.

Data Protection And Backup Challenges

Organizations need to wake up and take steps to protect their data and manage it to get the availability and value it needs. The Cloud Data Management Report survey also found that only 36% of companies are “very confident” about their current backup solutions.

The mentioned fact that a majority cannot meet the users’ needs hinders the introduction of tools and processes that can increase the business value, but the responding CxOs realize that they need to work on them. More than half of those surveyed want to use intelligent data management and multi-cloud solutions across the company to remedy this shortcoming.

Companies need to create the proper digital foundation to manage their data and secure their future intelligently. The existential question for many companies will be whether they can cope with the security challenges in the digital economy.

Cloud Data Management And Artificial Intelligence As Part Of The Journey To The ‘Smart Business’

Organizations should better use technologies like cloud data management and artificial intelligence (which is always present in anything called intelligence). To get a real-time view of the entire company and act intelligently based on this real-time view.

One study found that 54% of companies experience a loss of customer trust due to downtime. Among companies embarking on this path to becoming a more intelligent business, the study highlights four standard components worldwide.

So you should focus on these four areas:

  • Skills: Organizations need to develop their skills to ensure that employees can rely on data insights and take advantage of new technologies as they are deployed. 9 out of 10 companies believe that improving their employees’ digital skills is essential to their digital success.
  • Cloud: Data management in the cloud is an essential component to enable intelligent data management. According to a survey, three-quarters of companies use software-as-a-service ( SaaS ) platforms. Many companies use the cloud for their backup and recovery services; 49% use Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS), and 43% use Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS).
  • Culture: It’s essential to create a culture that is adaptable and open to new technology to evolve with the company. More than two-thirds of respondents believe that corporate culture should be more open and flexible to digital technologies.
  • To Trust: Organizations need to create a sense of trust in the company’s digital capabilities based on a solid data foundation. Currently, only a quarter of respondents have complete confidence in their ability to master digital challenges.

Intelligent Cloud Data Management Around The Globe

Some of the world’s largest economies are at risk of stalling investments in digital innovation. This relates, among other things, to the maturity of data management practices and plans to invest in intelligent data management and cloud data management.

Today we see a global digital arms race developing. Companies must create the proper digital foundation to manage their data intelligently and secure their future. To achieve this, companies need to be united internally, with IT and business working together and addressing the cultural and professional challenges.

We live in a data-driven age, and companies need to take steps to protect their data. Organizations need to manage their data always to be available and leverage its value to drive performance. This is no longer a luxury but a business necessity.
